Below are our Terms and Conditions when using services through Wax Works Studio Costume Studio. Failure to align with our terms and conditions may result in part or entire retainment of deposit, cancellation of the service, and possible denial of future services. Please read before starting the process of using any of our services, thank you!

Terms & Conditions

1. Responsibilities of Both Parties: Both the client and Wax Works Studio Costume Studio shall agree and set forth the following terms and conditions in good faith.

2. Rental Period & Possession: The rental of goods begins on the specified and agreed upon "Out Date" and ends on the specified and agreed upon "Return Date." The client acknowledges receipt of the costume(s) in clean, wearable, and excellent condition unless noted otherwise.

3. Late Fees & Overdue Returns: If the client fails to return the costume(s) and prop(s) by the designated date and time, a late fee of $15 per day will be charged against the Security Deposit or client's credit card on file. If items are not returned within seven (7) business days past the due date, the rental will be deemed a total loss, and the full Replacement value will be billed.

4. Shipping/Transportation: We are an in-person business. Clients must visit the business location in person to discuss and receive our services. We do not ship costumes and props

4.1 Rental Transportation:  We are not responsible for the transportation of costumes and props. If the client is renting over 10 costumes, we offer to transport costumes and props to the agreed upon location and date for a fee of $50, and back to our storage on the agreed upon date for a fee of $50, totaling $100 both ways.

5. Our Prices: Costume and prop pricing is fully disclosed to the client. Costumes for both children and adults are all the same prices. One full costume includes:

​

- a full body clothing article such as a dress, body suit OR a shirt and pants or skirt

​

- Accessories including but not limited to: belts, corsets, hoop skirts, petticoats, vests, ties, hats, gloves, etc.

- Props

​

- Shoes (may or may not be included)

​

Prices per costume:

• 1 costume: $50

• 2-5 costumes: $40 per costume

• 5-10 costumes: $25 per costume

• 10+costumes: $15 per costume

5.2 Pricing for Alterations and Costume Creation:

​Pricing for Alterations and costume creation is on a case by case basis. The client will receive a quote in the first meeting and must approve the quote before Wax Works Studio Costume Studio can move forward with the service.

5.4 Additional costs: Other costs that can accrue include:

​

- alterations to costumes

- transportation fees (if applicable)

- $15 per day will be paid to the costume designer to attend any rehearsals or performances. (to be scheduled 7 days prior)

5.5 To protect both the renter and Wax Works Studio Costume Studio, all goods and services will be itemized and priced. For rentals, the FRV is included for every item. FRV stands for Full Replacement Value, and is charged to the renter if the item is deemed a total loss.

6. Payment: We accept debit/credit card and check. For rentals, a Deposit will be paid upon the start date of the service, and will be refunded upon the completion date of the service within 7-14 business days. ​

​

7. Rental Care, Alterations & Cleaning:

The costume(s) and prop(s) must not be permanently altered, cut, hemmed, glued, or safety-pinned in any manner. All alterations may only be made by Wax Works Studio Costume Studio.

DO NOT LAUNDER OR DRY CLEAN THE COSTUME(S).

Wax Works Studio Costume Studio handles all professional cleaning post-rental. Unprofessional laundering can ruin specialized delicate textiles, historical garments, and theatrical props.

8. Damage, Loss & Replacement Costs: The Renter assumes full financial responsibility for any loss, theft, permanent staining, tearing, or destruction of the rented wardrobe. Minor wear-and-tear (such as a loose button or loose thread) is expected, but major damage will result in deduction from the Security Deposit or charging the Full Replacement Value (FRV) for that item (refer to 5.5 for FRV explanation).

9. Cancellation Policy: For rented items totaling 1-5 costumes, there is no Cancellation fee. Rented items totaling 6+ costumes: Cancellations made more than 60 days prior to the “Out Date” will receive a full refund. Cancellations made within this window will forfeit a processing/restocking fee of $100.

9.2 Alterations: No cancellation fee until goods to be altered are received by us to mend. Cancellation after goods are dropped off will result in a cancellation fee of $15.

9.3 Costume Creation: Cancellations made more than 60 days prior to the completion date of this service will result in a $100 fee billed to the client.

10. Limitation of Liability: Wax Works Studio LLC Costume Studio shall not be held liable for any allergic reactions, injuries, accidents, or adverse effects arising from the design, fit, fabric, or wear of the rented costume(s) and use of props. The renter and people use the costume(s) and prop(s) entirely at their own risk.

11. Governing Law: These Terms and Conditions will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Virginia without regard to its conflict of law principles.
